If there is something good which has come of my time as a conscript thus far, it is that I have started to read books again (as in for fun, not for world lit or other English A1 stuff).
Just recently, I’ve managed to read two books, Love in the Time of Cholera and Why Globalization Works. I felt that Gabriel Marquez’s Love in the Time of Cholera had an interesting premise, and some wonderful writing at the beginning, but fell into monotony in the middle of the book. I guess I’m just not very good at reading books on everlasting love (well love which lasts decades and decades and decades). Why Globalization Works was a really interesting book by Joseph Stiglitz on why globalization has not worked out and how it can be better implemented to make the world a better place.
It was also pleasantly readable with not as much technical jargon as I had expected. Not being an econs student, reading this book made me regret not taking economics, argh. (haha, this sounds like a primary one book review. Have I degenerated that much in 5 months?)
I guess people always think about the Road Not Taken, heh.

My signal operator course is starting on Monday, thus I will be staying in *curses*. Guess that means I need to visit the bookshop again. It also means that I have to acquire a Pokemon cartridge, because, erm, yea.
If anyone has a Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal/Blue/Red/Yellow cartridge to spare, please contact me by Sunday, which is tomorrow, thanks!
