Japan was cool. Literally and figuratively. The weather was a pleasant 24 degrees while the sites and shops visited owned what we have in Singapore. I guess having a longer, more notable history helps though.

Anyway, here’s an account (with photos!) from 5th to 8th June:

DAY 1

Left Changi T3 at 0100 hours for Osaka. Upon touching down, we took a train to the hotel. Leaving our bags packed and stored in the bowels of the Swissotel, we headed for Universal Studios.

Despite the drizzle, the place was awesome. Wonder what the one in the US must be like… 0.o

DAY 2

Visited Kyoto today. Went to a variety of temples and shrines and gardens and stuff. Fell into some tourist traps. DARN. Besides that, I think Kyoto has some really pretty and tranquil sites(note to self: visit again one day during cherry blossom season), which is probably why they’re world heritage sites. hmm.

DAY 3

Our last full day in Japan. Went shopping in Namba and purchased a Where’s Wally? book. Had brilliant Japanese pizza for lunch, after which we took a train up to Nara, arguably the city which would be most likely to be on the map of Johto in Pokemon.

DAY 4

Did zilch. Woke up at the unearthly hour of 7.30am, before checking out and getting on the train to the airport. Flew home feeling depressed at the imminent return to these sunny isles, and was not comforted by the fact that the plane served up the most scrumptious meal I’ve ever had on an airplane…and it was Japanese!

With Euro 2008 already here, I have felt the need to pick a team to support… Spain! Because I like the country and they wear the school colours. Lol.

OK, I initially intended to put up some photos of my trip here, but since it’s too troublesome, you can look here for the photos.

Argh, I think I’ll leave one photo here:

Not for the Pes C soldier

^Clearly, Universal Studios didn’t design their rides with Pes C warriors in mind.
