Washington is the new Ancient Rome. Check out the National Mall for further details.

I’ve decided that the USA rocks, and had I been born there (hopefully in San Fran, Boston, or NYC) I’d probably end up ignorant about the rest of the world. To all those Americans who thought Singapore was in China, I understand. Haha.

Yea, I only wish to have been born in the three aforementioned cities, because I’m pretty sure it would suck to be born in Arkansas or Kansas, which my parents claim is the ‘real’ America.

The West End version of Wicked does not work as brilliantly as the Broadway version, simply because the English accent cannot do dumb blonde lines any justice. Is it sad that I watched the same musical a couple of days apart?

Parisians are friendlier than expected. And they all speak English! I suppose it’s just that the good folks in the rest of France don’t get so many tourists asking (while pointing vigorously at a map), “Where izz the Eiffel Towerrr?”

I have discovered the secret behind the Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile. She is simply sian. Some poor country girl made to sit in the middle of summer for HOURS, while an eccentric guy in a beret paints her. Just look at her distant, longing eyes, and the small, forced smile on her face. Siannn.

Planning Tibet/Nepal/India with Kentay. Randomly throw a LOTR hike/horseback ride of New Zealand into the mix and the result is a totally chaotic conversation, made worse by Google Wave allowing you to keep editing past comments. What happened to good ole’ msn?

Just watched the ‘best driving roads’ episode from Top Gear. I’d be awfully stoked if I could go on a driving holiday. 2 requirements though:

1. Minimum age of 21 (unless you’re in NYC where it’s 18).

2. Minimum 2 years driving experience.

WHY?!

This means the summer of 2011 is the best possible date for a road trip in the near future. It’s before the Olympics and I’d have just met these two pesky requirements. That’s in roughly 600 days time? :(

When sufficiently bored, I will come up with a list of the places/things I need to do before I get old and have a bad back. Somewhere in between I’ll probably be mugging/whining in uni, and trying to earn pocket money to fund my epic excursions. I honestly don’t think anyone has quite any idea how expensive exciting my holiday plans are, or how unconventional they are as well.

I should work for Nat Geo or Discovery Travel & Adventure. Really.

Boston is awesome. European architecture + Jap technology = Boston- 1G carpark system (they still use tickets).

Ice skating is bad for flat-footed people. Do not try.

Looking decent helps you blend in with the locals. I discovered this in London when I ditched my blue puffy jacket for a vest and thin jacket. I decided to try this out after having lunch at some chic place, and realizing how off the jacket is. People wear the kind of jackets I was wearing in Alaska. So I went back to change. The result? I walk along the street and get stopped by a random Spanish couple who are asking for directions (which I could give).

Level up.
