Roy Keane left as manager of Sunderland yesterday. I suspect this is partly due to the attitude of some players (Chimbonda? Diouf?) and also partly down to the quality (or lack of) in his team. Being the perfectionist that he is, I think he probably realized his team cmi, so he decided to leave. As Niall Quin said, ‘Keane felt he’d reached the end of the road’.
Well, I think that Keane still has great potential (they’re not that far off midtable depite being 18th), and Fergie really needs an assistant, so therefore, Keane should be Fergie’s assistant manager! Keane will be able to learn more about management from observing Fergie not just on the training ground, but off it as well, while Fergie will be able to have a commanding figure capable of reigning in Ronaldo and co. Good idea eh? You heard it here first!
